A question often posed by people seeking to enter the blogging scene is whether or not to appeal to the masses, or to a select group of people who may be seeking out your material. Often enough though, this is an important question for game developers to consider in the early stages of their own development. In many ways the question has many of the same pro’s and cons as it does in the blogging world. Focusing your material to a select group of people means that you can tailor your content specifically to people who will most likely appreciate it most (as long as you’ve done your homework), while taking a broad approach to appeal to everyone means that your player base may actually be a bit larger.

Often times it can be hard for Indie Game Developers to find quality 3D models to use in their gaming environments. Even more often, it’s very hard for those developers to afford custom professional services. Fortunately for all of us there are quite a few websites sprinkled around the net that provide the community with reasonably priced and quality (usually) content. Some of the better resources that I have found online are listed here on this page. As I find more of them I will be sure to update this page.

We’ve covered some incredibly important aspects of your gaming environment - from visual stimulus, and the sounds that pull your travelers deeper into your game, to the stories that inspire and the game mechanics that help shape your players’ characters. However, at the end of the day there is one aspect that will bring everything home and determine whether or not your game is bursting with eager players, or an emptied ghost town.
